Hey Everyone, I thought I should give you guys an update. Especially wanted to tell you about a new pet I acquired yesterday from the pet store. If your wondering what it is, His name is Steve and he is a albino tiger Oscar with no eyes. I got him yesterday when I went to go get crickets for my bearded dragon and I decided to go look at the fish they had in the downstairs aquariums they had, Since I had a tank already and was looking into to getting some more fish to add to it.
I've always loved Oscars, But when I got the tank I decided not to get one. I thought I should start off with something different for this new tank of mine (I've had it since November 2013) I have 6 peaceful fish (White Skirt Tetras and a few female dwarf gourami's) and a Gold nugget pleco. I went over to the Oscar section like I always do, When something caught my eye. A 3 in. Oscar, Looking lost and alone. I looked closer - He had no eyes. I was shocked at the sight, I've never seen a fish this before in such perfect condition with such an ailment. I was even questioning myself why the store even had him.
I asked one of the employees about the little guy, he was Surprised. He had never noticed before, I told I would take him. I truthfully didn't care that he had no eyes and I was willing to take on the responsibility of taking care of him. I've had a few blind fish before, A rainbow shark and A clown loach, both of whom lived long and happy lives. He looked at me like I was a mad man. But, he gave me the little guy for free. So I decided to take the chance with him. Truthfully he seemed to act like all the other Oscars in the tank, he just seemed to wander a little aimlessly from time to time. Right now I'm in the unknown of his condition and Do hope he is alright. Since He is currently in my tank a my fathers house and I'm at my mother's. So hopefully by dad will be able to contact me soon about his condition, if he died overnight, I would truthfully understand. being put into a whole new environment and with his aliment would be stressful. but, I knew when I took him I had to think of the worse.
Another thing to add to the updates is that I'm still open to sketch commissions and I really do need to get a lot more, Since I am still in desperate need of the money to help pay for my pets. If anyone can spread the word, I'd be highly grateful for it. I might even add in a couple sketches of one of your horses while doing the commissions. You can find all the price on my front page, I'd even be willing to lower the price and I do take Paypal!
PS, If you guys want to give me a little more advice for my Oscar, I know a lot about it but I wouldn't mind some extra advice for feeding him. I'd be willing to do anything to help Steve
